Welcome !

Welcome to Troop 876! We are a BSA Troop dedicated to girls aged 11 to 17 who like to camp, make friends, learn, and challenge themselves.

Scouting is all about adventure, family, leadership, and especially fun!

BSA strives to build a better future for your child by teaching them skills they'll carry with them into adulthood.

Our motto - Be Prepared - applies not only to the practical skills your scout will learn, but also the leadership and teamwork skills that will prepare them for the future.

It’s fun, hands-on learning and achievement that puts kids in the middle of the action and prepares them for today – and for life.

Updated Troop 876 Handbook and Frequently Asked Questions Inbox

Posted on Sep 6 2025 - 6:26pm
Please find the updated version of our Troop 876 Handbook previously approved by the Troop Committee and Scoutmaster. One key update relates to Payments to the Troop. The Troop's preferred form of payment is now by Zelle and we have chosen to no longer accept PayPal due to excessive fees associated with having an account. Other non-Zelle payment options include cash and check. You can send Zelle payments to the troop email address at mvtroop876@gmail.com.

The Troop 876 Handbook provides general information of how Troop 876 functions (e.g. organization, meetings, court of honor, uniforms, camping, etc), and in a new appendix, it answers Frequently Asked Questions. We answer questions such as:
Q- Who makes sure my Scout makes progress on advancement and merit badges?
Q- How does the Troop track advancement, campouts, service hours and merit badges progress?
Q- Can an Assistant Scoutmaster sign off on their scout’s advancement requests? Can a Merit Badge counselor sign-off on their child’s merit badge completion?
Q- Can adults participate in an overnight event?
Q- What Medical Forms are Required to Participate in Scout Activities?
Q- Where can I buy camping gear?
Q- What is High Adventure? What are the guidelines for participation with Troop 876?
Q- How do Scouts gain approval of the Eagle Scout project and apply for Eagle Scout rank?
Q- How do I make payments to Troop 876 or seek reimbursements?
Q- How do Scoutbucks work for Troop 876?
Q- Are there annual Troop 876 fees?
Q- Does Troop 876 provide financial support to its Scouts?
Q- How does the Membership Renewal process work?

Hello everyone,

Your most recent Scoutbucks balance can now be found online at the link below:

This balance includes your 2024 balance, the most recent fruit basket sales contributions, and total balance.  Scouts are already requesting funds to use for the ski trip, so that is noted as well.  If you have any questions, please email the treasurer at treasurer@troop876g.org and copy a 2nd adult for Youth Protection purposes.

Thank you,
Mr. Runnels
